This rare Grissom signature has been James Spence authenticated.
On the left is a presentation print of a February 3rd, 1967., Time Magazine Cover showing Gus Grissom (featured left), Ed White and Roger B. Chaffee in front of the launch pad containing their AS-204, Apollo 1 space vehicle.
On the right, an instrument pilot certificate card personally issued to Air Force 2nd Lt. Virgil I. Grissom, with an expiration date of April 3, 1952. In part: "This is to certify that 'Grissom, Virgil I. 2nd Lt.' United States Air Force Has Met the Requirements for the Instrument Pilot Certificate (White) as Prescribed by AF Reg. 60-4." Signed in ink by John A. Baret and M. R. Miller for the Air Force. It shows that Grissom was in the 3525th Pilot Training Wing stationed at Williams Air Force Base in Arizona with 288 hours of pilot time to date. In very good condition with expected wear.
