Feeling the brush strokes and flow of paint is a consistent element to Ray’s work.

“It is important for the viewer to have a sense of being present, as if they witnessed the paint being applied,“ says Ray. “My goal is that my work’s impact is both emotional and visceral.”

Commissions and the collaboration it entails is exciting for him, and it’s result:

“Witnessing the smile that my art brings to someone’s face truly is that moment of connecting to the soul.”

Ray is a recent inductee of the Sturgis Museum Hall of Fame, a recipient of the Chicago Brushmasters Lifetime Achievement Award, and a keynote speaker for the Industrial Designer Society of America. He holds twelve design patents for his design work at Harley-Davidson.
