Ray has taken his years of working with metal and enamel paints to create a series of Iconic figures from Bruce Springsteen, Bob Marley, Jimmy Buffet, David Grohl, Mick Jagger, Stevie Ray Vaughan to Ernest Hemingway. Zazoo is pleased to share these amazing works with you.
Whether creating fine art or designing motorcycles, Ray is internationally known for telling compelling visual stories through an array of subjects, styles and media.
After discovering his talents at an early age, he broadened and honed his artistic skills, eventually becoming VP of Styling at Harley-Davidson.
Feeling the brush strokes and flow of paint is a consistent element to Ray’s work.
“It is important for the viewer to have a sense of being present, as if they witnessed the paint being applied,“ says Ray. “My goal is that my work’s impact is both emotional and visceral.”
Commissions and the collaboration it entails is exciting for him, and it’s result:
“Witnessing the smile that my art brings to someone’s face truly is that moment of connecting to the soul.”
Ray is a recent inductee of the Sturgis Museum Hall of Fame, a recipient of the Chicago Brushmasters Lifetime Achievement Award, and a keynote speaker for the Industrial Designer Society of America. He holds twelve design patents for his design work at Harley-Davidson.
