RARE ALBUM COLOR PROOF FOR BEATLES YELLOW SUBMARINE (1969)

Regular price $2,495.00 Sale

Rare used album cover color proof for the US Release of The Beatles Yellow Submarine.

The album arose from contractual obligations as part of the Beatles three-picture deal with United Artists. With the band having disliked their previous film Help!, it was agreed that an animated film Yellow Submarine, would fulfil their obligation, as it reduced their involvement, though they reluctantly agreed to record four new songs for the film.

The cover's whimsically hallucinogenic imagery was created by Heinz Edelmann.

The artwork of the US and UK albums were slightly different. In the UK the words ‘ Nothing is real ’ appeared in green below the title on the cover. This was removed from the US version.

Note: Used color proof with minor scratches as shown.

Measures approx. 35 1/2" x 21 1/2" framed.
