Rare typewritten original letter dated October 9th, 1954 with hand-written inscriptions and Ernest Hemingway's signature ' Papa '.

The letter was typed on FINCA VIGIA, SAN FRANCISCO DE PAULA, CUBA Stationery. Hemingway lived in the house in Cuba from mid 1939 to 1960.  From the back veranda and the adjacent tower, he had an excellent view of downtown Havana. The house is now a museum.

The letter is addressed to Leonard Lyons, an American newspaper columnist, best known for his New York Post column called " The Lyons Den. " Hemingway is responding to a column and Saturday Evening Post article that Leonard had sent him. Papa also shares how he would love to see him but is busy writing a book of stories.

Elegantly framed with a presentation image of ' Papa ' Hemingway and a brass plaque denoting ' Ernest Hemingway 1898 - 1961 '. (Correct date is 1899).

Note: Slight wear on frame which does not detract from this historic set-up.

Hemingway's inscriptions and signature are James Spence Authenticated.

Measures approx. 29 5/8" x 24 3/8" framed.
