Released on April 23rd, 1971, it was the band's first album to reach the Number One spot on both the US and UK Album Charts.
It is considered one of The Rolling Stones best albums and has since achieved ' triple platinum ' status in the US. The album is inducted in the Grammy® Hall of Fame and included in Rolling Stone Magazines 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list.
The plaque with the seal of the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) states:
' Presented to Atlantic Records to Commemorate the Sale of More Than One Million Dollars Worth of the Rolling Stones Records Long Playing Record Album " Sticky Fingers " '.
This RARE and early white matte award is presented in the original frame and measures approx. 17 1/2” x 21 5/8”. In fine condition with some minor wear.
The reverse of the award has a rare sticker on brown paper indicating it was assembled by authorized RIAA framer ' New York Frame and Picture Co. ‘
Very few white matte RIAA Gold Awards® were created for a particular album.
