Known as " Josie " to his friends, it was suggested to him by Hemingway to rename his bar " Sloppy Joe's ". Hemingway called him " Josie Grunts " and used him
for the model for Freddy, the owner of Freddy's Bar and captain of the Queen Conch in " To Have or Have Not ".
Presented as a hand-numbered limited edition, fine art print on archival paper with a hand-torn deckled-edge. The Deluxe Size is in an edition of only 50 prints.
